Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU) is a State Private University established under the Sardar Bhagwan Singh University Act, 2018 (Uttarakhand Act No. 12 of 2018). The University is enlisted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, and is empowered to award degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956.

The University adheres to the norms and regulatory frameworks prescribed by the following statutory and professional bodies:

  • University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India – Compliance with applicable UGC regulations governing undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
  • All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) – Compliance with applicable norms for technical and management education programmes, wherever required.
  • Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) – Approval for Pharmacy programmes.
  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Academic programmes aligned with ICAR standards and model curricula for agricultural education.
  • National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) – Compliance with prescribed curriculum and competency standards for allied health programmes.
  • Uttarakhand Paramedical Council – Compliance with applicable requirements for allied and paramedical programmes.
  • Government of Uttarakhand – Compliance with the provisions of the Sardar Bhagwan Singh University Act, 2018 and other applicable regulations.
