Message of Vice Chancellor

It gives me great pleasure to welcome students, faculty, staff, alumni, and well-wishers to the 2026–27 academic session at Sardar Bhagwan Singh University.

Higher education is undergoing profound transformation. Disciplinary boundaries are becoming increasingly fluid, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are reshaping knowledge creation, and universities are expected to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, ethical responsibility, and social commitment.

Sardar Bhagwan Singh University builds upon a distinguished educational legacy spanning more than three decades. From its origins as a pioneering institution in biomedical sciences, SBSU has evolved into a multidisciplinary university guided by the Sikh principle of Chardi Kala —the spirit of resilience, optimism, and continual growth.

Our seven academic schools offer a diverse range of programmes in allied health sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, agriculture, life sciences, basic sciences, management, computing, and related disciplines. This academic breadth equips our students to address the complex and interconnected challenges of the twenty-first century. Through a combination of academic rigour, practical training, industry engagement, and experiential learning, we strive to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for successful careers and meaningful lives.

The true measure of a university lies in the character, competence, and accomplishments of its graduates. Our alumni, serving with distinction across India and abroad in healthcare, academia, research, entrepreneurship, industry, and public service, remain our greatest pride and strongest testament.

Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, we are strengthening multidisciplinary and flexible learning, integrating skill development with academic depth, promoting undergraduate research, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and leveraging technology to enrich learning experiences.

Our research continues to focus on generating real-world impact in areas such as public health, sustainable agriculture, rehabilitation sciences, environmental stewardship, and technological innovation.

As we move through 2026–27, we remain focused on quality enhancement, academic reform, faculty development, and national accreditation to further strengthen our standing as an institution of excellence.
