Message of Vice Chancellor

It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you as the Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU). Our institution, founded over three decades ago under the visionary leadership of the late Sardar Gurcharan Singh Ji and nurtured by the values of Chardi Kala (ever-rising spirit), has emerged as a pioneer in higher education, research, and social development in Northern India.

Rooted in the legacy of Gaurav Bharti Shiksha Sansthan, SBSU was among the first institutions in the region to offer specialized programs in pharmaceutical and allied health sciences. Over the years, we have grown into a multidisciplinary university, with seven vibrant schools offering diverse programs ranging from agriculture and computer science to management, life sciences, and the basic sciences. Our commitment to affordable, inclusive, and quality education remains unwavering.

SBSU's contribution to society extends far beyond its classrooms. Our alumni—spread across industries, academia, public service, and healthcare—stand as evidence of the institution’s enduring impact. Our research endeavours aredriven by relevance, innovation, and a responsibility to address local and global challenges. Whether it is community-based health interventions, sustainable agricultural practices, or start-up incubation, SBSU remains actively engaged in nation-building.

In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, we face emerging challenges: the fast pace of technological change, the demand for interdisciplinary skills, the mental health and well-being of students, and the need to prepare graduates for a world defined by complexity and uncertainty. At the same time, our students aspire for more than just degrees—they seek purpose, global competence, ethical grounding, and the ability to shape a better future.
