Our Founder

Sardar Bhagwan Singh University traces its origins to the vision and leadership of Late Sardar Gurcharan Singh Ji, a distinguished educationist, philanthropist, and institution builder whose commitment to quality education transformed countless lives.

In 1994, driven by the belief that education is the most powerful instrument of social progress, he established the Sardar Bhagwan Singh Post Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences & Research (SBSPGI). His vision was to create an institution that would provide high-quality professional education, foster excellence, and empower young people to realize their full potential.

A leader of remarkable foresight and determination, Sardar Gurcharan Singh Ji believed that institutions thrive when guided by purpose, integrity, and service. Under his leadership, SBSPGI earned recognition for academic excellence and laid the foundation for what would later become Sardar Bhagwan Singh University.
