Prof. (Dr.) J.Kumar, M.Sc (Agri-Plant Pathology), Ph.D.

Vice Chancellor

Prof. (Dr.) J. Kumar, a visionary leader in agricultural sciences, holds an illustrious career spanning several decades. Prof. Kumar has over 40 years of experience in Agriculture Research, Education and Development/management. He has 40 Academic Distinctions/Awards/Honours in his name. He has got 21 Research grants during his career. He has to his credit of publishing over 174 Research Articles, Books and Monographs.

Dr. Ram Krishna Bhatt, ARS, FNIE, FRMSI, FISPP

Dr. R. K. Bhatt having 33 years of experience in research, teaching and extension on various aspects of Applied Botany, Plant Physiology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Agro forestry, Plant Genetic Resources and Seed Science & Technology. Supervised 6 Ph.D. students as major guide and 15 students as member of RAC. Received Sr. Award of Academy for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences of ISPP, ICAR Team Award, CAZRI Institute Award and Veer Durgadas Award in the field of Agro forestry. He has been also awarded fellow of Indian Society for Plant Physiology, National Institute of Ecology and Range Management Society of India. Visited seven countries (USA, UK, Italy, Denmark, UAE (Dubai), China, Vietnam) and conducted many training programme, winter school and short courses as Course Director. Served as President of Indian Arid Zone Society of India, CAZRI, Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Vice President of Indian Society of Plant Physiology, IARI, New Delhi during 2010 and Vice President of Society for Science of Climate Change and Sustainable Environment climate, New Delhi. 2011-2013. Technical guidance were given to State Department (Lalitpur and Banda District) on Watershed development, UPCAR, Lucknow on feed and fodder crops, M.P. Forest Dept. on forage resource development in the forest and rehabilitation of degraded forests and DST on promotion of fodder crops through NGOs and other Institutions. He is the Life member of Indian Society of Plant Physiology, Range Management Society of India, Indian Society of Agro forestry, Indian Society of Seed Research, National Institute of Ecology, The Society for Science of Climate Change and Sustainable Environment and Arid Zone Society of India. Published more than 450 research papers, articles and chapters in refereed National and International Journals, Books, Bulletins, Newsletters, Compendium and Proceedings and participated and delivered scientific talks in National and International Seminars, Symposium, Congress and workshop etc.)

Mr. Anil Panwar, M.Sc Horticulture

Mr. Anil Panwar is currently working as Assistant Professor cum Program Coordinator in Department of Agriculture and Forestry, School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, Sardar Bhagwan Singh University, Dehradun. Mr. Panwar has Post Graduated in Horticulture from Department of Horticulture, G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. He was recipient of university scholarship Graduate Teaching/Research Assistantship during post-graduation., also qualified ICAR-ASRB-NET. He has published 4 Research papers, 6 research abstracts and 2 review articles in National and International Journals of repute. He is associated with teaching and research in the courses pertaining to Agriculture and Forestry in UG levels from the last more than 7 years. Mr. Panwar has a keen interest and inclination in Horticulture, Post Harvest Management, Food Processing and Greenhouse technology and improving Agro-Horti techniques to improve lives of farming community in Urban and Himalayan region. He has guided the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and forestry students on ICAR Student READY Programmes and organized first READY fair in 2022 in the School of Agricultural Sciences and Forestry.

Dr. Nikki Nautiyal, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), Ph.D. (Genetics and Plant Breeding)

Dr. Niki has done her M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Ph.D in Genetics and Plant breeding from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (Uttarakhand). She has more than 8 years of teaching and research experience. Qualified ICAR NET conducted by Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board in the year 2014. She was recipient of University scholarship during her Doctorate Program. She has supervised 18 Post-graduate/Graduate theses. Her publications include 10 Research Papers, 8 popular articles in National and International Journals of repute, 5 book chapters published with Springer Nature/Taylor & Francis and has authored 1 book and 1 Edited book. Dr. Niki has been awarded the prestigious “Shikshak Shiromani Award” in year 2023 and “Young Women Scientist Achievement Award” by Uttarakhand Science Education & Research Centre (USERC), Department of Science & Technology, Government of Uttarakhand in 2023 in Women Scientist Conclave 2023-2024. Her area of specialization is related to Plant breeding and Plant biotechnology.

Mr. Vishal Warikoo, M.Tech ( Computer Sci.)

Mr. Vishal Warikoo has completed his B. Tech from Punjab University and M. Tech. (CSE) from UTU, Dehradun. He has more than 15 years of teaching & 1 year of Industrial experience. He has qualified Certificate Course in Software Testing. His area of interest includes Networking, Security systems and Web warehousing and Database handling. He has attended more than 15 conferences and seminars. He also has 1 National patents to his credit.

Ms. Hemlata Bhatt, M.Sc. Ag. Agroforestry (ICAR- NET)

Assistant Professor

Hemlata Bhatt has done her B.Sc. in Forestry and M.Sc. in Agriculture Agro forestry from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. She has done research on “Performance of promising wheat varieties under Eucalyptus based Agro forestry system”. She was awarded graduate Research Assistantship in the project entitled AICRP Agro forestry during her post graduation degree duration & qualified ICAR- NET. She has 7 year teaching experience & has participated in 4 seminars/workshop and also published 1 research paper in reputed journals. Hemlata Bhatt has keen interest in the field of “Soil Characteristics and its Treatments for growth of forest products”.

Dr. Deepanshu Rana, M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Microbiology

He has done his M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Microbiology from Gurukul Kangri (Deemed to be University), Hardwar, Uttarakhand, India. He is having 5 years of Research and 3 years of teaching experience. He was a recipient of the Young Scientist Award from SAAR, JNU (February, 2020). He is an active member of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and Indian Science Congress Association-Haridwar Chapter. Dr. Rana has research interest in Gut Bacteria, Plant Metabolites, Secondary Metabolites, Microbe-Microbe Interaction, Antimicrobial agents, Ecological Niche, Nanotechnology, In-silico Study. Apart from proficiency in various Microbiological and Nanotechnological techniques he has also expertise in various software skills like RSM, BLAST, STATIXL, MEGA-X, Design expert, ADME, NEB Cutter, PyRx, ANI Calculator and other web based bioinformatics tools. 10 gene sequences have been submitted in his names in NCBI Database, USA. He has presented a total of 11 research articles in different national and international conferences. He has published a total of 09 research articles, 03 review articles and 05 book chapters. He has published 2 patents and serving as Co-Investigator in a USERC Funded Project.

Ms. Nisha Joshi, M.Sc. (Mathematics) & B.Ed.

Mrs. Nisha Joshi has received her M. Sc. Mathematics and B. Ed. From HNB Garhwal University, with six years of teaching experience. She is teaching mathematics to under graduate students since last five years. She also deals with subject like statistics.

Dr. Suhani Sabarhwal, M.Sc. (Hons) Botany 1994, Ph.D. (Botany) 2001, Panjab University, Chandigarh

GATE and CSIR-UGC NET, Awarded University State Scholarship and Rotary Foundation GSE (Group Study Exchange) to the United States in 2005. Post-Doctoral experience includes participation in National and International Scientific Workshops and Seminars, refereed various scientific journals, and magazine publications, authored several books on both Nature and Pharmaceuticals published by national and international publishers, actively engaged in establishing laboratories, conducting classes with modern infrastructure and smart board technology along with lab work, live specimens and organizing educational excursions.

Dr.Rajbeer Singh, Ph.D. (Zoology)

Dr. Rajbeer Singh has completed M.Sc. In Zoology from D.B.S PG College Dehradun and Ph.D from HNB Garhwal University. His specialisation is in Environmental biology and Freshwater Diatoms. He has published dour papers and 4 papers are communicated.

Ms. Garima Singh, M. Sc. (Zoology), M. Phil. (Avian-Chronobiology)

Ms. Garima Singh completed her M. Phil. in 2017, specialization with chronobiology entitled “Circadian rhythm in passerine finches’’ to study the locomotory behaviour in terms of migration in different photoperiod of Emberiza bruniceps, Lunchura malacca malacca, Ploceous philippines. Her area of expertise in her Ph. D. is Ornithology, Chronobiology, Zoo semiotics, Ethology, Avian-Acoustics and Behavioural Ecology. She has 10 Research Articles, 04 book chapter with reputed publishers. She has worked as JRF in Drug Standardization Research Institute, Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi (20 8-2019). She completed a SERB funded project from Zoological Survey of India, Dehradun entitled “Microstructure, individual and sub-species variation in Indian Robin (Cosychus fulicatus L.) in association of Ph. D. (Since 2019). She has also experienced of collection of acoustical evidences with territorial aspects of 04 sub-species of Indian robin from Himalayan foothills (Northern population), Tamilnadu (Southern population), West Bengal (Eastern population), Maharashtra (Central population) and also hands on training of Animal Handling and Dosing in Pathology Laboratory, LLRM Medical College Campus, Meerut. Her learned skillis in Avisoft SAS-Lab Pro, Q- GIS, Raven-Pro, SPSS 16.0, Google-Earth Pro. She has delivered 09 invited/oral talks and awarded Best Oral Presentation and attended several International conference and training programs, one of them is “Regional training on Lab-based quality control for Traditional/ Herbal products for the WHO South East Asia Region organized by WHO SEARO, Pharmacopeia Commission, Gov. of India. She is life member of “Ethological society of India” and “Association of Avian biologist in India”.

Ms. Vidhi Tiwari, M. A (Mathematics)

Ms. Vidhi Tiwari has completed her B. A from MKPPG College, Dehradun and M. A. From DAVPG College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Her specialization is in Mathematics. She is teaching mathematics and deals with statistics subjects also to the under graduate students. She has 1 year teaching experience.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar, M.Sc. Ag. (Horticulture). Ph.D Horticulture (Vegetable Science) (ASRB – NET)

He has done his M.Sc. Ag. Horticulture & Ph.D Horticulture (Vegetable Science) from G.B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand). He has done Research on Influence of Nitrogen & Plant Spacing on edible leaf, seed yield quality of vegetable Amaranth (Amaranthus spp). He has having two years of teaching experience at the department of Agriculture as a Assistant Professor in Maya Group of College Selaqui, Dehradun and Published four Research papers & participated in five International & National conferences. He has awarded with student excellence award at G.B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand).

Ms. Neha Joshi, BBA, MBA (HR)

Currently she is working as a assistant professor in department since last two years in different subject i.e, Agri- Economics, Agribusiness, Busniness Commication skills and Agriculture finance. She has done her BBA in H.R and Marketing and M.B.A in Human Resourse from Uttarakhand Technical University Uttarakhand. She has One years of industrial Experience and ten years of teaching experience in management. She also guide the agriculture and forestry students on different modules of student READY programme especially on Market survey, Analysis, Marketing proposal, production report and documentation and report evaluation. She has also one year pg diploma in business entrepreneurship from Entrepreneurship development institute of India, Ahmadabad, Gujarat and also attend national and international seminar on this same. Dr. Vinod Kumar Dubey, M.Sc. (Agricultural Entomology), Ph.D. (Entomology)

Dr. V. K. Dubey completed his Ph.D. in Entomology at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, India. He completed his M.Sc. (Agricultural Entomology) from Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, Karnataka, India and B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture from Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has qualified ICAR-JRF, ICAR-SRF, ASRB-NET and attended several international, national conferences, and trainings. He has published 5 abstracts, 1 book, 10 book chapters with Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis and Elsevier and more than 10 popular articles and newsletters. Dr. Dubey has also published 11 research articles, 3 review article with some of the prestigious publishers like Frontiers, Magnolia Press and Elsevier. He is the life member of Association for Advancement of Pest Management in Horticultural Ecosystem (AAPMHE), Division of Entomology & Nematology, ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru-560089, India and The Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata-700017, India. His area of expertise is insect taxonomy, insect toxicology, and pesticides residue analysis.
