Preface, Vision & Mission

Defence, is of utmost importance in the kind of the world we live in today. In order to promote power of the youth through a special programme Sardar Bhagwan Singh University is introducing a new endeavor "Graduate Degree with certification in Training for Induction into Defence forces" for the youths under General Hari Singh Nalwa Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School, which is aimed to prepare the candidates academically, physically and mentally for entry into all defence services. It is an effort to translate the National Defence Policy to produce an individual with military capabilities and is intended to create awareness about a career in defence among the young generation.

General Hari Singh Nalwa Armed Forces Preparatory School is the first of its kind in the region with the aim to prepre the youth aspiring to opt for commissioned officers in the Indian Army and other Para Military Forces and to bring a complete and permanent change in the personality of the students / cadets joining the school by providing them a wide array of activities to train them get a glimpse of the life in the forces in true sense.

This course is attuned to no personal belief system other than what you believe in yourself and to that end, it enable your personality to grow by getting you to explore your boundaries. One of the most important elements of the training concerns balance and focus; as both are an essential part of this course by which you would be able to modify your personality and become more confident in the process.

Highlights

Curriculum of the student / cadets based on a two tier module:- A. Three years degree programme in Arts, Science or Commerce B. The training of the cadets in all aspects of Competitive examinations for military/paramilitary services and Services Selection Board primarily, subject to the physical fitness of the cadet as per defence requirements.

The course mainly focuses on candidates with a raw passion for arm forces. The candidates will be designated as cadets. Cadets will be trained in sports, personality development, team building, leadership and communication skills besides their preparation for interviews. The candidates after completing their graduation course can get direct recruitment opportunity in Indian defence services.
